Have You Spent Time with God Today?

In the midst of our busy lives, it’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind — wake up, go to the gym, get ready for work, power through the day, and then unwind with TV or social media before bed. The cycle repeats, and before we know it, an entire week has passed, and the only time we’ve spent with God is on Sunday at church.

For a long time, that was my reality. My prayer life was minimal — just a quick prayer before meals or a few words at church. I rarely prayed in the morning or throughout the day. If something happened, I’d tell myself, “Oh, I’ll pray about that on Sunday.” But by the time Sunday arrived, I had already forgotten.

The Importance of Daily Connection with God

I realized that if I wanted to deepen my relationship with God, I had to be intentional about it. So I made a change. I started incorporating prayer and Bible reading into my mornings, even if it was just a simple, “Thank you, Lord, for another day.”

Even a short prayer is better than no prayer at all. God understands that sometimes we have hectic mornings, but acknowledging Him — even in a quick check-in — sets the tone for the day. It doesn’t have to be complicated; it can be as simple as thanking Him while driving to work or taking a quiet moment to pause and reflect.

The Peace That Comes from Prayer

Since making prayer a daily habit, I’ve noticed a shift in my mindset. My days start with peace instead of stress. Instead of going into work filled with worry or negativity, I surrender my anxieties to God. When I trust Him, my mental health improves, and I enter my day with a sense of optimism.

It’s easy to get caught up in negativity — complaining about work, traffic, or feeling overwhelmed. Social media often fuels this mindset, making it seem normal to constantly focus on what’s wrong. But when we center our day on God, we break free from this cycle. We shift from “woe is me” to “God is with me.”

Using Your Commute for Spiritual Growth

One simple way to integrate faith into your daily routine is by using your commute as a time for spiritual reflection. Instead of immediately turning on music or a podcast, take a few minutes to talk to God. If you enjoy listening to something, consider Christian audiobooks, podcasts, or worship music.

Some of my personal favorites include:
- Christian rap artists like KB, which keeps me energized and motivated.
- Christian podcasts such as those by Madison Pruitt or Deborah, which provide wisdom and encouragement.
- Christian audiobooks like Dangerous Jesus by KB, which challenge me to grow in my faith.

Music and content that uplift your spirit can transform your mindset, making even a long commute an opportunity to connect with God.

Building Accountability and Encouraging Others

Creating content like this helps me stay accountable in my own spiritual walk. By sharing my journey, I hope to encourage others to prioritize their relationship with God. If you’ve made it this far, I truly appreciate you!

If you found value in this, I encourage you to take small steps today — start your morning with prayer, listen to uplifting content on your commute, and remind yourself that every moment with God counts.

Let’s grow in our faith together! Stay blessed, and have a great day.

Action Steps:
- Make daily prayer or Bible reading a habit.
- Use commute time to listen to Christian music, podcasts, or audiobooks.
- Shift your mindset from worry to trust in God.
