this is my year

this is my time

this time I’m gonna leave you behind

I know you’ll come visit me at some point

but for now, I have to go

I must grow

what’s on the other side

covered by my pride

but now, I’m free

free as a bird

no longer will I fear rejection

no longer will I fear failure

because fear will lock you in a cage like a bird

for as long as you let it

but now I’m breaking the cage open

to go live the life for which I’m destined
